Alex Komlew

(*1981) is a film composer, songwriter and producer based in Munich and Berlin. His filmscoring work embraces TV and cinema collaborations with established and award winning directors like Feo Aladag and Hans Steinbichler as well as highly talented up and coming directors like Vivane Andereggen and Isabell Braak.

Wether it is crafting an orchestral score, working with electronic soundscapes and everything in between: the story, the movie, the visual is king and defines the structure and texture of each individual soundtrack.


The Hanni & Nanni reboot co-scored with Johannes Repka is the most succesful German movie in the cinema top 10 for 6 weeks in a row.

The biopic Landauer – A Life for football is premiered @filmfest Munich and the feature documentary „Revisiting Brundibar“ is released in the German cinemas.


Two of his songs made it in the German and Ukranian preselection of the Eurovision Songcontest, he was part of the scoring team for Fack Ju Göthe, the most successful German film in 2013 and wrote the scores for several arthouse features and advertising campaigns, which will be released in 2014.


The animation film “Little Raven” featuring a jaunty orchestral score performed by the Slovak National Symphony Orchestra reached the top 5 of the German cinema charts. In this year, Alex also scored and co-scored the recent films of award-winning directors Hans Steinbichler and Connie Walther.


Won the renowned Franz Grothe-Sponsorship Award, scored a 64-part children mystery series broadcasted daily on Germany’s public children’s TV station (KiKa) and was in the German album Top 10 with the band Haudegen, where he produced and co-wrote most of the album’s songs.


Invited to the Berlinale Talent Campus to participate in the Berlinale Talent Campus Score Competition 2010 mentored by Oscar-nominated composer Alexandre Desplat, where he won the 2nd price.


Co-founded tuneverse, an internationally operating songwriting and production team, with whom he achieved several Top 10 albums and singles in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
