Alex Komlew

Alex Komlew (born 1981) is a film composer, music producer, and songwriter, working across cinema, TV, and interactive media from his studios in Munich and Berlin.

Alex has collaborated with award winning directors such as Hans Steinbichler (Landauer – A Life in Football), Jan Georg Schütte (Tatort – The Team), Feo Aladag (The Boy Who Wants to Live), Vanessa Jopp (Colleagues), and Christian Zübert (The Mopes).

The more than 50 film and series projects he has worked on are featured on platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney Plus, HBO, and all major broadcasters in the GSA region and beyond.

In addition to composing for live-action films across genres like drama, biopics, thrillers, documentaries, and dramedies, he scored seven animated feature films with live orchestras and two animated series, captivating young audiences and children worldwide.

As a music producer and songwriter, Alex has earned three gold and one platinum record to date.

He holds degrees in Popular Music & Media (BA), Music Management (MA), Jazz Piano (BA), and Film Scoring (MA), and continues to expand his knowledge constantly. He’s been lucky to learn from industry veterans like Alexandre Desplat, Howard Shore, Conrad Pope, and Gary Yershon, through various workshops and masterclasses.

When Alex isn’t in one of his studios (which, admittedly, doesn’t happen too often), you can find him lifting weights, reading his way through his annual goal of 30 books, or indulging in his childhood hobby of collecting Masters of the Universe action figures from the ’80s.
